Royal and Ancient Golf Club votes to accept women members

One of the oldest and most prestigious golf clubs in the world, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in Scotland, has voted to allow women to join as members for the first time in its 260-year history.

Eighty-five per cent of those who voted were in favour of change. Until now, women were allowed to play on the course, but only men could join the club.
