'Larger than life' Gerry Conlon 'bore no grudges'
Gerry Conlon, who was wrongly convicted of the 1974 Guildford IRA pub bombing, has died aged 60 after an illness.
He was one of the Guildford Four, who spent 15 years in prison before their convictions were quashed in 1989.
SDLP leader Alasdair McDonnell said he felt a sense of personal loss and described Mr Conlon as a "larger than life character" who "bore no grudges".
In 2005, Conlon thanked senior members of the SDLP for standing by him as he tried to clear his name.
