Labour Party urges action on equal pay

The gap between male and female rates of pay needs to be addressed urgently, according to the Labour Party.

Official figures suggest women are paid almost a fifth less on average than men, but the government says progress has been made to narrow the gap and that more women are in work than ever before.

Iain Watson reports.
