Can 'digital feminism' make a difference?

A new wave of contemporary feminists is harnessing technology to try to challenge stereotypes and make change.

One of the more prominent organisations is The Everyday Sexism Project, created by Laura Bates. It was launched last year so that individuals could report their own experiences of sexism - some of which have been taken up by the police. More than 10,000 stories have been recorded.

But can these digital techniques really influence entrenched positions? Fi Glover explores the issue in a film for BBC Newsnight.
