A third of older drivers quit too soon - says RAC
The number of over-70s who hold a UK driving licence has risen to over four million, according to the RAC Foundation.
The organisation found that 191 centenarians are still on the road, with a 107-year-old woman the country's oldest licensed driver. But at what age are people too old to drive?
RAC director Professor Stephen Glaister hopes a new leaflet will make the law clearer for older people and explains what they can do to keep on the road longer.
He told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "A third of drivers stop sooner than they need to... and what this piece of work is about is giving trusted information and advice about how individuals can genuinely assess their capabilities."
