Syria activist: 'We want you to come and help us'

Qusay, an opposition activist from the Damascus suburb where the alleged chemical weapons attack took place, spoke to the BBC after meeting the UN inspectors on Monday.

He said he wanted the West to step in and provide Syrian rebels with military aid.

"We and you to come and help us," he insisted.

He said Syrians were experiencing a "new holocaust" that "the world has never seen before".

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 27 August 2013.
