'Anniversary' of weather forecast technique

A plaque is being unveiled at a Scottish weather observatory to mark 100 years since the arrival of the man credited with creating modern meteorology.

Lewis Fry Richardson was the first person to use mathematical methods to predict the weather, working from the Eskdalemuir Observatory in Dumfriesshire.
