Martin 'delighted' by right-to-die ruling

A 48-year-old British man with locked-in syndrome, known as Martin, has said he is "delighted" with a High Court decision to allow him to seek clearer prosecution guidance for health workers who help others die.

He wants it to be lawful for a doctor or nurse to help him travel abroad to die with the help of a suicide organisation in Switzerland.

Richard Stein, a partner from Martin's law firm Leigh Day, said it was a "crucial victory" for his client and other people "who do not have close family or friends willing or able to assist them."
