Volunteers fight to save libraries

Libraries across the UK are battling to stay open in the wake of tough budget cuts.

Two hundred libraries were forced to close in 2012 because of a lack of funding. A further 170 "community-run"' libraries are being run by volunteers and hundreds more could still face closure.

Those who use the services warn that communities risk losing more than a book lending service.
