Londonderry mortars 'disgraceful attack'

The Northern Ireland Secretary has said, the four mortar bombs intercepted by police in Northern Ireland minutes before being launched in Londonderry, were a "disgraceful attack".

Theresa Villiers said that were it not for the effective action of the Police Service of Northern Ireland there could have been, "mass casualties, death of police officers, members of the public, families, children."

Three men have been arrested in the operation linked to dissident republicans.
