Homes flooded in Helston in Cornwall

The Environment Agency has issued hundreds of flood alerts and more than 100 flood warnings across England and Wales and Scotland.

Several major rail routes are still suffering severe delays and more heavy rain is forecast throughout the day.

In one area of Cornwall - Helston - police have evacuated some residents from their homes because of rising water levels.

The BBC's Andrew Plant reports from a flooded street in Helston.
