Leveson report into UK press due

A report into UK press ethics, launched in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal, is due to be published on Thursday.

Lord Justice Leveson presided over eight months of hearings examining the culture, practice and ethics of the press. It was set up in the wake of the scandal over phone-hacking by journalists at the now-defunct News of the World newspaper.

The report is widely expected to recommend some form of statutory press regulation, overseen by an independent body.

Naomi Grimley reports.
