Trafficked and sold as a sex slave

The latest government estimates suggest the number of people being trafficked into the UK and then used for sex, labour and domestic slavery is rising.

Last year the authorities learned of 946 victims, an increase from 710 in 2010.

Sophie, a British victim of human trafficking, who was forced into prostitution talks about her harrowing experience at the hands of her trafficker and describes how being exploited and sold for sex affected her life.

Her words here are said for her by an actress to protect her identity and viewers may find aspects of her story upsetting
