Student saved by tree after parachute becomes tangled

A student who lost control of his parachute has admitted he was "unbelievably lucky" after coming within feet of being impaled on a spiked metal fence.

Liam Byrne, who had to be cut free by firefighters after half an hour stuck in a tree, emerged with no more than a scrape and a bruise following his ordeal in County Durham.

Fiona Trott reports.
