Birmingham airport runway shut after plane skids off

Flights in and out of Birmingham airport were suspended for two hours on Friday afternoon after a plane skidded off the runway while taxiing to the terminal.

Airport officials said the Monarch-chartered flight ZB467, from Nice in France, was being operated by Lithuanian firm Air Aurela.

It is understood no passengers or crew sustained any injuries during the incident.
