Police shootings: Arrest over PC deaths Facebook comments
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an offensive Facebook page which was set up following the deaths of two policewomen in Greater Manchester.
PCs Fiona Bone, 32, and Nicola Hughes, 23, suffered fatal injuries in a gun and grenade attack in Mottram, Tameside, on Tuesday morning.
Assistant Chief Constable Gary Shewan said Greater Manchester Police had received more than 30,000 messages of condolences on its website which, he said, were heart-warming to read.
But he said a number of derogatory and offensive comments had also been posted on social media websites.
