Meteor: 'Massive ball of flames'

Reports of a "bright light" have been made to police call centres across Scotland and the north of England.

Meteorwatch said it had also had reports of sightings as far south as Devon.

Scientists have said it was likely to have been a chunk of debris that vaporised as it struck the Earth's atmosphere.
