Do work experience schemes exploit young people?

Several of the government's work experience schemes have come under fire in recent weeks.

Critics say the initiatives are "slave labour", but the government insists they help prepare jobless young people for employment.

Is any experience is better than being unemployed? Or is it wrong to expect people to work without paying them a proper wage?

BBC News has been speaking to some young people to get their views on the debate.
