Leveson inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal begins

A judge-led inquiry set up in the wake of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal is to begin its work looking into the practices of the press.

Appeal court judge Lord Justice Leveson will hear evidence, including from alleged hacking victims, at the Royal Courts of Justice in central London.

It will consider whether the current system of self-regulation works.
