Maude: Talk of strike action by unions is premature

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has said it is "quite wrong" for public sector unions to be asking their members about strike action when consultations over pensions are still ongoing and "making progress".

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Maude said that there was "lots more to talk about", but that with people living longer it was necessary for people to retire later and pay more towards their pensions.
