Ian Paisley retires as NI Assembly completes historical first full term

History has been made in Northern Ireland with the Assembly completing the first full term of devolved power at Stormont for 40 years.

Ian Paisley is retiring at the age of 84 after an extraordinary period in which a coalition of bitter enemies, as well as some unlikely friendships, held things together.
