Civil Recovery: The latest weapon against shoplifters

Civil recovery is a process which allows retailers to pursue shoplifters, or anyone they think has cost them money dishonestly.

The system originated in America but has been increasingly used in the UK since 1998.

Some say it is a legitimate way to protect stores from billions of pounds of losses, other say is it victimising the innocent. Adrian Goldberg of Five Live Investigates reports.
