Scottish Parliament to discuss restrictions on alcohol

New restrictions on the sale and promotion of alcohol are expected to be approved by members of the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday.

However, it is thought they will reject the SNP's proposal to set a minimum price per unit.

The cost of alcohol misuse in Scotland is estimated to be more than £3bn a year.

The Scottish Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, told the BBC action was needed.
