Stabbed MP Timms 'alarmed' by student's motivation

The Labour MP Stephen Timms, says he is "alarmed" by the motivations of a Muslim student, who he said tried to kill him after spending time looking at material on the internet.

Roshonara Choudhry, 21, who has been given a life sentence, stabbed the MP in retaliation for his support of the Iraq war.

Mr Timms said it was tragic that the woman had "thrown away" her education and career prospects.
