The government is scrapping the Royal Navy's flagship aircraft carrier and cancelling an order for nine Nimrod reconnaissance planes as part of its strategic defence review.

Alison Harper reports from Portsmouth on the decommissioning of Ark Royal, while James Cook is at RAF Kinloss, which will shut because of the cancelled Nimrod MRA4 order.
