Pope's speech at Holyrood house, in Edinburgh

Pope Benedict has paid tribute to the Christian heritage of Britain, as he was welcomed by the Queen at Holyrood house in Edinburgh.

In his first address since arriving on UK soil, the pontiff acknowledged the ''deep Christian roots'' of everyday British life.
