Police warning over spending review

The Home Secretary, Theresa May, has delivered a defiant message to Police Chiefs telling them that effective policing does not depend on the number of officers.

In a speech to the Police Superintendents Conference she said that it is "ridiculous" to suggest savings can't be made in policing.
