Cloned bull meat 'confiscated' at abattoir

The head of the Food Standards Agency in Scotland has said meat from a cloned bull has been confiscated at an abattoir.

Two bulls and one cow from the embryos of a cow cloned in the US were bought by a farm near Nairn in the Highlands.

Charles Milne said the other cloned bull had been slaughtered last year - and its meat is thought to have been eaten.

Professor Milne added that there was no evidence that any of either bull's offspring, nor the milk from the cow, had entered the food chain.
