Email pioneer Ray Tomlinson has died at the age of 74

The man credited with inventing the email system has died at the age of 74.

It was back in 1971 that Ray Tomlinson sent the first messages between computers that were just 10 feet apart.

Four decades later, more than 200 billion emails are sent or received every day.

Rory Cellan-Jones reports.
