Humans are 'too trusting' of emergency robots

Humans are willing to trust robots in an emergency even if the machines have been unreliable just a short while earlier, a study suggests.

Engineers at the Georgia Tech Research Institute programmed a robot to lead visitors to the wrong room or take them around in circles.

They then staged a fire and found that people ignored clearly marked exits and followed the robot deeper into the building.
