How to ski against the professionals using VR

A prototype sports simulator which allows users to race against real skiers in real-time is being developed.

The skier's mobile phone sends his GPS location to the virtual reality simulator, while the competitor's position is relayed to the other skier through a small display in his goggles.

The project's technical lead, Michael Boniface said he hoped the system could allow people watching live sports events at home to compete against professional skiers in real-time.

BBC Click's Dan Simmons reports.
