Apple apologises for Maps switch 'frustration'

The chief executive of Apple has apologised for mistakes in its maps, which are available on the iPhone and the iPad.

The maps were released last week but users said some towns were in the wrong place, and others including Stratford-upon-Avon weren't there at all.

Tim Cook suggested customers use rival maps, including those on Google, while Apple corrected the errors.

Rory Cellan-Jones explains what went wrong with the software.
