British woman has dog cloned after winning competition

Britain's first cloned dog has been born after her owner won a competition offering the procedure for free.

The South Korean company, which usually charges £60,000 to clone animals, reproduced 12-year-old daschund Winnie using her skin tissue.

Her clone, named "Mini Winnie", was born by caesarean on March 30 and is currently being looked after in South Korea.

Owner Rebecca Smith, 29, told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "It was really amazing to see the little Mini Winnie being born... it was a very special time."
