Annual grey seal pup monitoring on Farne Islands

Grey seal pups living on the Farne Islands, off the coast of Northumberland, are being counted as part of an annual survey.

After 11 months of gestation, the pups have just a month after birth to wean themselves off their mother to make a life for themselves in the sea.

Victoria Gill reports on how the monitoring is providing useful information about the seal population.
