Sexual assault victim asked: 'What were you wearing?'

A statement written by a victim of sexual assault has gone viral online.

She talks about the line of questioning she received during the trial and it's got people talking about a culture of victim blaming.

The perpetrator Brock Turner, a 20 year old former student at Stanford University, was sentenced to six months in county jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman.

Turner's father's statement defending his son has also been widely shared and met with outrage online, as he says his son should not have to go to prison for "20 minutes of action".
