The 1950s Rollerway still going strong in Los Angeles
Once a staple of American youth during the last century, many roller skating rinks in the US now struggle to pull in a crowd.
But the bright green walls of Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, California still see hundreds of skaters on weekend nights, with crowds often lining up well in advance of the rink's opening on any given night. The rink has also become a popular filming location for television shows and movies, like the recent film Straight Outta Compton.
"We've been successful because we haven't changed much since the 1950s," says Moonlight Rollerway owner Dominic Cangelosi, who also plays the organ.
BBC's Matt Danzico visited the rink.
