A lesson in Choctaw

Mike Davis teaches the Choctaw language to students beyond his tribe and all over Oklahoma.

The 62-year-old grew up speaking Choctaw and was not introduced to English until his first year in school.

With most parents teaching their children English these days, Mr Davis is concerned that an important part of the Choctaw culture will be lost.

"The only thing we have now as a tribe is our language and if we lose that we're just like everybody else," he told the BBC.
