Adoption online: Two dads and a mum share a child via social media

Online dating has become one of the primary means of finding a wife or husband. But what about using the internet to find a baby?

Adoptions can be costly and time consuming, but some couples are looking online to make the all-important connection with mothers who may want to find another home for their children.

In the US state of Maryland, Brad Letson and Brad Benton wanted to adopt but grew impatient with the wait for a suitable match.

The men, who are known to friends as the Brads, placed an advertisement on Facebook and received a response within hours.

They are now the parents of two-year-old Kyler and use Skype and social media to keep in touch with his mother. And they have created a website,, to tell their story.

Jane O'Brien went to meet this very modern American family.
