Spending review: What is expected for the NHS budget?

The BBC understands the Treasury is pushing for cuts to the health budget in next week's comprehensive spending review.

The Government says it is committed to increasing NHS funding by £8bn a year by 2020, but it is thought this will not apply to public health work carried out by local authorities.
