Hunt: 'My door has been open for talks since June'

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has not ruled out going to independent arbitration at Acas at some stage in the dispute with junior doctors in England, according to the Department of Health.

Speaking to the BBC's political editor, Laura Kuenssberg, he said there had been no discussion with the British Medical Association about the current offer, despite a majority of junior doctors voting in favour of going on strike for three days.

They are protesting against changes to overtime and weekend payments but the government says an increase in basic pay of 11% will cover the changes.
