Doctors told to reduce prescriptions for antibiotics

Doctors are being urged to cut down on the use of antibiotics.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) wants to avert the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance.

Guidelines say doctors need to be far more comfortable saying no to patients, even those who are insistent on having antibiotics.
