Containing threat of Ebola after man diagnosed in US

The first case of the deadly Ebola virus diagnosed in America has been confirmed in Dallas, Texas.

Dr Christopher Perkins, medical director at Dallas County Health and Human Services, explained on the Today programme that the health department is seeking to track down those who have been in contact with with the man, but urged caution:

"Keep in mind that though Ebola individuals can be infected they're not contagious until they become symptomatic, which can usually occur between two and 21 days."
