Baby receives cochlear implants

A baby has become the youngest person in the UK to have cochlear implants fitted and activated.

Evie lost her hearing after contracting meningitis when she was three days old.

The devices will not cure her deafness, but do create a sense of sound, allowing speech development and the enjoyment of music.

Jane Dreaper reports.
