Dylan faces 'Judas' heckle in Manchester

On 17 May 1966, Bob Dylan played a concert at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, which saw him face shouts from the crowd, including one heckler who called him "Judas".

It has been called "one of the pivotal moments in popular music" and the moment "rock and roll woke up" by two audience members who are celebrating it with a concert in the city.

It was caught on tape and, after years of being available as a bootleg, a recording of the concert was released by the singer in 1998.

This page forms part of a feature about the 50th anniversary of the concert.
