Nutcracking for Christmas

Nutcracker is one of the most popular ballets in the world, especially around Christmas. The show brings to life the popular Tchaikovsky score, featuring the well known Sugar Plum fairy dance.

English National Ballet return to the Coliseum with Nutcracker this December, following a successful run in 2014 when more than 70,000 people went to see their version of the show.

Two of the star ballerinas, Laurretta Summerscales and Cesar Corrales, spoke to BBC News ahead of the opening about why Nutcracker continues to appeal to audiences today.
