How to blow up a car and other film special effects

Blowing up a car, making a dog snarl, creating an eerie fog on a battlefield; just some of the daily chores carried out by film and TV's visual effects units.

On a business park in suburban north-west London, one special effects company has decided to debunk the movie magic by showing exactly how film's fake injuries, shootings and explosions are made.

Artem boss Mike Kelt and sculptor Emily Pooley shared their special effects secrets with BBC News.
