Are school nativity plays losing their religion?

A growing number of schools are taking artistic licence with the tale of Jesus' birth, a new poll suggests.

According to one online survey, only a third of them stage a traditional nativity and some have changed the name entirely, calling it a 'Winter Celebration'.

BBC Breakfast went to a primary school in Stockport to see how they are preparing and asked Chris McGovern of the Campaign for Real Education and Gogglebox's Rev Kate Bottley of St Mary's and St Martin's Church, Blyth, if the trend was a damaging one.
