Clive James: 'I've started saying goodbye'

Writer and broadcaster Clive James is to make a rare public appearance at the first Australia and New Zealand Festival of Literature and Arts in London.

Mr James suffers from leukaemia and emphysema, and explained that he is having to limit taking part in such events due to a lack of energy.

He added that he prefers not to be morbid about his illness, but added that he has "inevitably" started to say goodbye.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 27 May.
