Her director Spike Jonze challenges Newsnight presenter

Her is the latest offering from director Spike Jonze, whose filmography includes Being John Malkovich and Adaptation.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams, Her focuses on what happens when a lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

Mr Jonze spoke exclusively to BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis about the meaning of the film, and he challenged her on her thoughts and interpretation of the movie.
