Alice Munro wins Nobel Prize

Canadian author Alice Munro has been awarded this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.

Peter Englund, permanent secretary for The Swedish Academy which selects Nobel winners, made the announcement at Stockholm's Bourse building.

The Academy called Munro a "master of the contemporary short story".
